Gender / Reveal
This installation is about the path being forged by parents of gender non-conforming children within in a society that that is highly polarized on the subject. In this work, I am trying to make sense of the expectations and ceremonies we hold in honor of names, which are attempts at pinpointing something we may have no right to claim, a fraught and fragile process which I now see as a form of potential violence.
